About Infocentre
In the Beginning
The company commenced business in 1976 in Canada and by the mid- 1980's had become the leading provider of reservation systems to tour operators in Canada. Further afield the company was helping clients in Europe and the USA.
Offices were opened in the USA and the UK in 1980 to provide services and support to the expanding client base, now established in those countries.
The UK office rapidly became a centre for bespoke work culminating in the development of the InfoRM system for tourist boards. Following a change
in strategy by its Canadian parent the UK office became majority owned by its working directors in 1991.
In 2000, after a period of reorganisation and consolidation that focused us on our successful products and allowed us to re-align our R & D efforts with our successful customers' requirements, Infocentre Travel Systems was purchased by Infocentre Limited. This enabled us to move a significant percentage of the company stock back into
"participant" ownership, whilst attracting some key outside investors and management skills.
Presently
Infocentre first became involved with Warner Leisure Hotels in 1985 and developed a central reservation system called 'Tours'. This system was instrumental in the set up of their first Central Reservation Office. Tours provided the platform for Warner Leisure Hotels to become one of the first UK holiday companies to set up a 'Call Centre'.
In 2003 Infocentre were asked to provide a new reservation system. infoRM was created and became the engine room of the business. Infocentre have continued to develop infoRM to ensure that Warner Leisure can move forward with the ever changing needs of their customers.
Infocentre launched a Public and Tour Operator site for Minotel in 2000. Infocentre are currently in the process of developing a brand new system using the latest technology which will include, A central Reservation System. PCI compliant, Administration system, XML based interface, special additional interfaces, purchase office section and an Intranet for Hoteliers.
A Web Design service was introduced at the beginning of 2009. Since the service was launched we have been responsible for designing new websites for a variety of customers. See our portfolio for more details.
Infocentre has been working with Meon Valley Travel since 2003, providing support and IT expertise to ensure the smooth running of the business. Since 2003 Meon Valley Travel has grown as a business and Infocentre has continued to support them with each new venture.
