UNISEX is the sexual health promotion and drug/alcohol awareness service for students at the Universities of Sussex and Brighton.
Web Design
UNISEX approached us as their existing website was in desperate need of a revamp.
They needed a website that was appealing to students. As a
Sexual Health and Drug awareness site, UNISEX needed to be easy
to find, user friendly and above all, informative. To achieve
this we set about a complete site over-haul.
At the time UNISEX were undergoing a lot of rebranding
program in other areas aside from the website, so it was
suggested that we liaise with their graphic designer. The images
they produced were very appealing, so we used these graphics
throughout the new website. This in turn, saved time and cost
for producing images specifically for the website.
We worked closely with both UNISEX and Daramoto to come up with a design that worked aesthetically and semantically.
Content Management System
UNISEX were not sure how many updates would be made to the website and how frequent these would be.
We proposed a light FTP based CMS that would allow them to make all the changes they needed to, as and when they felt necessary with minimal costs.
Search Engine Optimisation
UNISEX provides a lot of very important and useful
information for students. It was very important that we spent
time on the SEO in the constructing stages. This in turn helped
UNISEX to be as visible as possible on the Web.
Unfortunately, the decision to cut the funding of UNISEX has been made, so the website is no longer updated. It does still receive vast amounts of hits each month and proves to continue to be useful.
